Andrew had been on-call all of 42 minutes before he was actually called onto the floor. A bus crash meant there was a sudden overload of patients, to the point they were taking the less urgent cases to another hospital a bit further away. He literally hit the floor running and hadn't stopped now in nearing twelve hours. It was case after case, on top of even the bus casualities, plus three DOA's which meant a hell load of paperwork and getting the police involved. Andrew just should have known it would be a fucker of a shift, but he was nothing if not optimistic.
As if his personal life wasn't bugging him enough. First there was the fight-that-wasn't with Sam. All Andrew wanted to do was make sure he was okay and didn't need help, and then suddenly the whole issue of their arrangement was dragged open, when Andrew didn't even realise it was an issue before. Sam was suddenly making a huge deal over the boundaries and what they should or shouldn't be doing, and Andrew was basically just downright confused about the damn thing. Wasn't the whole point of friends with benefits just that? You were friends, who had sex. But friends still cared about each other, right? Though, friends who sleep together apparently aren't supposed to care about each other at all and now Andrew wasn't even sure if Sam was indicating they should
stop sleeping together... stop being friends... None of it got resolved when Sam starting throwing up and asked Andrew to leave. All Andrew could do was respect that, and they hadn't spoken since. And then there was Kurt's Facebook status about having a date and the subsequent conversation that followed it. It shouldn't bother him, but it did. He still had some processing to do, even if Kurt seemed adamant no date was going to happen, there still had been an agreement to one, meaning there was mutual feelings on both sides. But at least Blaine was getting better. That was the upside, right?
( It was a matter of shoving it all right to the back of his mind now, though, and focusing on the tasks at hand... )
