It took Artie a few minutes to figure out where he was when he woke up. He knew where he should be - shopping with his mother at the mall. But he was pretty certain that this was nowhere in the mall. No jostling shoppers getting in his way. Just noise outside of where he was, but more ordered than it should be, and more subdued.
He looked around, instantly realising that his glasses were missing. However, even without them, it all clicked - he could tell that he was on some kind of bed, in what was very obviously a hospital. He fought back an wave of panic. In a hospital was good, right? Whatever happened, he was alive and safe, and it could be fixed. "Breath, Abrams," he murmured to himself.
